It would be some consolation for the feebleness of ourselves and our works if all things should perish as slowly as they come into being but as it is increases are of sluggish growth, but the way to ruin is rapid.” Lucius Anneaus Seneca (4 BCE-65 CE).
A multidisciplinary project that attempts to comment on the paradigm-shifting moment that humanity faces today. Collapsology is the collapse of a complex human society and the substantial loss of its sociopolitical structure caused by economic, environmental, demographic, political, social, and cultural factors. Emotionally it polarizes the narrative of progress and apocalypse.
Something within us is irreparable without place. Atopia is what constitutes the eccentric existence of every being, but it refers also to a society which does not have territorial borders.
Collapsology: Notes from Atopia uses train routes (allegory) around the world to open through ordinary people and contemporary thinkers’ new ways to consider human, technological, and animal subjectivity, language, politics, and metaphysics. Our fates are interdependent.
